Product Details
A staple in eastern medicine, Reishi is also known as the mushroom of immortality. It’s multiple health benefits are down to the 130 triterpenoid compounds and polysaccharides found in the fungi. Research suggests these can reduce inflammation, histamine production, reduce sensitivity and even aid sleep.
How to Use
Take 3 capsules once or twice a day. 400mg per capsule. Drink with water on a full or empty stomach. Keep your Reishi fresh by sealing the pouch properly or storing in an air-tight container away from sunlight or heat.
Immune System Modulation
Human trials show that Reishi can enhance immune function, particularly in immunocompromised patients. For example, advanced cancer patients given a Reishi polysaccharide extract for 12 weeks showed significant increases in immune cytokines and natural killer (NK) cell activity compared to baseline. (Immunol Investig, 2003)
Reduced Fatigue and Improved Well-Being
Reishi has been studied for combating fatigue and neurasthenia. In an 8-week randomized placebo-controlled trial, patients reported significantly reduced fatigue and improved well-being with Reishi extract compared to placebo. (J Med Food, 2005)
Relief of Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms
Reishi may support men with mild benign prostate enlargement. A double-blind trial found that 12 weeks of Reishi extract significantly improved urinary symptom scores without major side effects. (Asian J Androl, 2008)
Blood Sugar Control
A controlled crossover study in patients with borderline high blood sugar found that Reishi supplementation led to lower fasting insulin levels and improved insulin sensitivity. (Br J Nutr, 2012)
Improved Cholesterol and Lipid Profile
A randomized trial of 110 individuals found that 12 weeks of Reishi spore oil lowered total cholesterol, triglycerides, and LDL, while raising HDL. Liver function also improved. (Nutrients, 2023)
Antioxidant Effects
Short-term human studies found that Reishi increases plasma antioxidant levels, helping to neutralize free radicals. Trends toward enhanced antioxidant activity in urine were also noted. (Int J Food Sci Nutr, 2004)
Adjunct Cancer Therapy Support
Early clinical research shows Reishi may support cancer patients alongside conventional therapy by boosting immune response. One trial noted fewer precancerous polyps in colorectal cancer survivors taking Reishi extract. (Integr Cancer Ther, 2020; Hiroshima J Med Sci, 2010)
