Chaga (Inonotus obliquus) is a dark, charcoal-like mushroom that grows on birch trees across the cold forests of Northern Europe, Russia and Canada. With a rugged exterior and golden-brown interior, it has a long heritage in traditional practices across these regions, where it was historically simmered into an earthy, coffee-like brew. At Pure Fungi, we craft Chaga into a concentrated dual-extracted extract, using both hot-water and alcohol methods to capture its naturally occurring beta-glucans and other polysaccharides. Chaga is the subject of ongoing research.
