What is Lion's Mane?
Lion's Mane (Hericium erinaceus) is a shaggy white mushroom that grows on hardwood trees across Europe, Asia and North America. Cooked in Asian kitchens for centuries, prized for its delicate, subtly seafood-like flavour. Ours comes as a powder and as capsules.
What is Reishi?
Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) is a glossy, woody mushroom that grows on hardwood trunks. Its taste is deep and bitter, which is why ours comes in capsules.
What is Chaga?
Chaga (Inonotus obliquus) is not a mushroom cap but a dark, cracked growth found on birch trees in the cold forests of the far north. Traditionally brewed as a drink in Siberia. Ours comes as a powder and as capsules.
What is Snow Fungus?
Snow Fungus (Tremella fuciformis) is a pale, frilled mushroom with a silky, gelatinous texture, also called silver ear. A staple of Cantonese dessert soups such as tong sui. Ours comes as a powder and as capsules.
Our products
Which mushrooms come as powder and which as capsules?
All four come as capsules: 90 capsules of 400mg in a resealable pouch, 30 servings of 3 capsules. Lion's Mane, Chaga and Snow Fungus also come as powder: a 60g resealable pouch, 30 servings of 2g. Reishi comes as capsules only.
What is in each product?
Each product contains one mushroom, never a mix of species. The ingredients are listed on each product page and on the label. If you have an allergy or a dietary requirement, email contact@purefungi.co.uk before you order and we will check for you.
Powder or capsules: which should I choose?
It comes down to preference. The powder stirs into coffee, tea, a smoothie or a broth, hot or cold. Capsules are for when you'd rather not taste it, with each serving already measured.
How do I take the powder?
Take 2g, about one level teaspoon, once or twice a day. Stir into coffee, tea, a smoothie or a broth, hot or cold. Do not exceed the stated recommended daily dose.
How do I take the capsules?
Take 3 capsules once or twice a day, with water, with or without food. Each capsule holds 400mg of extract. Do not exceed the stated recommended daily dose.
What does it taste like?
Lion's Mane powder is mild and earthy, so it does not take over a drink. Chaga powder brews dark and earthy, a lot like coffee. Snow Fungus powder is mild and near neutral. Reishi tastes deep and bitter, which is why ours comes in capsules. Capsules are for when you'd rather not taste it at all.
How should I store it?
Reseal the pouch after use and keep it dry, away from sunlight and heat. Keep out of reach of young children. If the seal is broken, do not use the contents.
Is there anything I should know before taking it?
Food supplement. Not a substitute for a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Do not exceed the stated recommended daily dose. Keep out of reach of young children. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or taking medication, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before use.
Ordering, delivery and returns
How much is UK delivery, and when will my order be sent?
We process orders within one working day of your order confirmation email. At checkout you can choose 48 Hours Tracked for £4 or 24 Hours Tracked for £5. There is no free delivery threshold at the moment. Our delivery rates cover UK addresses. Full details are in our Shipping Policy.
How do I track my order?
When your order ships, we email you a tracking number. Allow 48 hours for the tracking information to appear. If your order has not arrived within 2 days of your shipping confirmation email, email contact@purefungi.co.uk with your name and order number.
Can I subscribe, and what do I save?
Yes. Every single pouch can be bought once or on subscription. Sets and packs are one-time purchases only. Choose Subscribe on the product page and pick a delivery every 30, 60 or 90 days. Subscriptions are 10% off the product price. There is no obligation, and you can change or cancel at any time.
How do I change or cancel my subscription?
Use the Subscription link in the footer of our website, or the link in your order confirmation email. You can change or cancel at any time. Our Subscription Policy has the details.
What is your returns policy?
We offer 30-day returns. You can request a return within 30 days of receiving your order, as long as the item is unused, in the condition you received it and in its original packaging, with proof of purchase. To start a return, email contact@purefungi.co.uk. Items sent back without a return request first cannot be accepted. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method within 10 working days. What if my order arrives damaged or wrong?
Please check your order when it arrives. If anything is damaged, defective or not what you ordered, email contact@purefungi.co.uk as soon as possible with your order number and a photo, and we will work with you to put it right.
